Brewood Priory

Brewood Priory could be:

• Black Ladies Priory, a Benedictine priory in Brewood, Staffordshire, England, dedicated to St. Mary.^[1]
• White Ladies Priory, once called the Priory of St Leonard at Brewood,^[2] in Shropshire, near to the Staffordshire county border.^[3]

Both of these communities are referred to in medieval documents, especially the many extant from the reign of Henry III, as the "Priory of Brewood", without any attempt to specify which is meant - often leading to confusion.^[4]
